A.{Mr Adams} MAIN SPRING. LOW RATING, LARGE INITIAL DEFLECTION, SMOOTH RIDING OVER SMALL BUMPS.
B. AUXILIARY SPRING. HIGH RATING COMING INTO OPERATION AS THE WHEEL APPROACHES MAXIMUM BUMP AFTER HITTING A CONSIDERABLE OBSTRUCTION.
C. HIGH RATING REBOUND SPRING. TO CHECK THE MOVEMENT OF THE WHEEL AWAY FROM THE FRAME.
D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} HYDRAULIC DAMPER PISTON. ON THE RE-BOUND THE OIL HAS TO PASS BETWEEN THE PISTON AND THE CYLINDER. THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PISTON AND CYLINDER VARIES AT DIFFERENT PORTIONS OF THE BORE, GIVING GRADUATED DAMPING. A SPRING LOADED VALVE LIMITS THE MAXIMUM DAMPING ON REBOUND. ON COMPRESSION THERE IS ONLY ABOUT 1/8TH OF THE REBOUND DAMPING LOAD, A SPRING LOADED NON RETURN VALVE REMOVING THE NECESSITY FOR THE OIL TO PASS BY THE PISTON.
