Spare Wheel Cover UB.3614 Further to FS{F. Steele}/BJW 6/JO 22.12.60, your suggestion had previously been considered but after discussion with Hvy we prefer to retain the fitting of the Spare Wheel Panel in department 164 before road test. If the final agreed standard of finish is obtained in the paint shop prior to fitting and reasonable care taken during assembly, the existing operation sequence should be satisfactory. Will JPB please confirm that it is essential to continue to paint the Spare Wheel compartment and lid{A. J. Lidsey} to match the car colour. It would facilitate production and reduce cost if this area could be painted to match the boot trim which is black on all cars. FS{F. Steele}/Rd.
