x794! To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}6/KW.23.10.34. 28-EX. Your memo. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}13/MH.{M. Huckerby}22.10.34. The rear brakes of this car had just been relined and new brake drums fitted. The trouble you experienced was evidently due to heating up of the brakes. The boss of the Bijur oil feed had been filed to clear the toggle mechanism, as it had been noticed that it was a close job. We had not during the whole of our 15,000 miles test had the groaning or grunts you complain of. There had been at times a servo jagger, but not to the extent you report. Petrol Pumps. We had the same trouble as you experienced during the latter part of our mileage. The faulty pump was changed when the car returned. Your trouble was with the pump that has run 20,000 miles. We did not mention the electric pump in our reports as they were fitted purely as a means of pumping petrol, due to the air pump not being available because of a balanced camshaft being used. The test of the electric pump has, however, been useful, and the failures are being investigated. The carburation would be affected by the shortness of petrol. Gearbox. The faults of the jamming have been investigated and are being remedied. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.W.Hancock. | ||
