TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM AJS. Copy to - BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL X8300 AJS3/M16.7.26. PHANTOM CLUTCH. X8300 We are redesigning this with a view to reduction in the weight of the flywheel, and incidentally by a new scheme of universal joint we have saved about 3 lbs. in weight in this unit alone, with a considerable reduction in its cost. We expect to send you the drawing for this in a day or 2, and wish to give it the new mark number as referred to in AJS2/M1726., and should be very pleased if you would let us have the list of mark numbers referred to in that memo.
