R.R. 235A (500 T) (S.D. 408. 26-4-17.) Bm. 2/156/13. ORIGINAL TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M22.8.22. RE. GOSHAWK STEERING. X4264 With further reference to my Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M21.8.22., I have since seen a note from Mr. Royce in which he refers to an initial load of 100 to 150 lbs, and also agrees to reduce the clearance to .4 of an inch instead of .5 . In view of this we should like you to try in addition to the experiment we have already sent you, the same springs compressed an additional .1 of an inch, which will give you a load -starting at 140 and rising to 300 with a clearance of .4 of an inch. We doubt whether we can get the rating any lower than is shewn, and we think that we should have some results from this before we give further instructions.
