DRAFT.

REPORT ON POSITION OF WORK CARRIED OUT WITH REGARD TO COMPLAINTS.

COMPLAINT 20/25 & 30 H.P. BENTLEY.

Rear brake actuating shafts binding. D.O. finished scheme GL{G. Linnett}833 for Bentley on the 2/9/36. Instructed 7/9/36 Expt. Dept. Not as yet completed for test.

D.O. scheme for 20/25 & 30 H.P. not as yet issued. Expt. scheme being tried in France.

COMPLAINT 25/30 H.P.

Exhaust suspension rattle from Tail Pipe Modifications made and put in production 11/8/36.

Complaints, failure of P.II front silencers and 25 H.P. rear.

The position of P.II front silencers is in abeyance. As many as 10 modifications I am informed were made to the front silencers. This means that for the Expt. Dept. to make a silencer for test on an owner's car would be very difficult as the series, and particulars, would first have to be obtained.

The position with regard to the 20-25 H.P. is different, and three rear silencers with the shells treated by the Webb anti-rust process have been made and despatched to Cricklewood on the 10/10/36.

One of these has been fitted to GLG 23 at a mileage of 12.133 Nov.2nd, 1936. This will be kept under observation.

Complaint 25/30.

Exhaust. Manifold breaking of lug. This was reported on the 8/9/36. A malleable iron manifold for test was ordered on the 5/10/36 but 7 weeks is required by the Manufacturers for delivery.

Complaint.

Marles steering. 25/30 H.P.

Failure of end plate cover where adaption for
