-3- Door Stops and Locks. It was suggested that a stick of the special wax compound for the lubrication of Silent Travel Locks be given by the Coach-builder with every complete car, subject to its being made in England. At present it is made in U.S.A. Sound Insulation. A sample of the proposed photograph and literature to be distributed to Coachbuilders dealing with sound insulation on our cars was presented to the members of the meeting. Subject to any modifications resulting from their criticisms it will be available for distribution. It was agreed to send to JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} a half section of the model of the dahhboard treatment for instruction purposes. It was agreed that the carpet and felt mat should cover the pedal gap plate, although some doubt was expressed by JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} whether this would not cause the pedals to stick. Cars so treated were inspected and it was agreed to test such a mat and carpet on one or more cars in London. Works are to provide Tenax fasteners for the carpet on the pedal gap plate. Radiator Shutters. A scheme for adjusting the end-play of radiator shutters has been instructed for test. (3) Revision of Coachbuilders Chassis Prints. It was agreed that Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}, JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} and LA.{L. A. Archer} should submit their proposals to Derby and sample revised prints should be prepared. It was asked that the dimension on the clearance for the Phantom III rear universal joint on the propeller shaft be increased from 7.625" to 8.000", and JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} and RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PD will report on tests before action is taken. (4) Wireless Set and Jack Handle - Phantom III. Scheme to be prepared setting the jack handle in towards the centre of the car so that it will clear a wireless set when fitted to the instrument board. (5) Car Heaters. Derby are conducting tests on a range of car heaters to determine the best design. It was agreed to equip all Wraiths cars with heaters. Cont: | ||
