Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to EFC. c. to etc. c. to Dv. X.30746 A.T EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/F13.1.21. X.30746. RE. NOISY LUCAS DYNAMOS. We still continue to have trouble with noisy dynamos on cars on test. We are not turning many down as we feel we are "up against it", since in view of our conversation on this matter we feel that the only alternative would be to stop the output. On the 12th. inst. however, we had a particularly bad case and one which we could not pass. We demonstrated the noise and an effective cure to Messrs. Bailey & Clark and the attached is a report from EFC on this matter, which I thought you should be kept in touch with. Should you have a visit from a representative from Messrs. Lucas, we feel we could make demonstrations of the noise about which we are complaining. We do not wish you to specially send for him, however, as we are now trying to rig up a unit test which will demonstrate the noise very clearly and definitely, and if necessary a possible cure. When we are in this position we will let you know definitely, as we think it would be very wise to have Mr. Breedon here to demonstrate these faults and also demonstrate the same trouble on the car.
