Swindell}3/R.18.2.37. with following extra:- (1) Depression in insulating washer and induction manifold at 4000 R.P.M. full throttle. (2) Check each cylinder by cutting out for pre-ignition. O.H.C. No.23. BENTLEY UNIT. Unit to be fitted on bed following completion of Wraith 2. Has been fitted with the following:- (1) Reduced bore, Induction system and std. Bentley carbs. (2) Angus seal cylinder head gasket. (3) Close coiled springs made by Tempered Spring Co. Tests to proceed as per previous memo. B.17. Following endurance, tests are proceeding with suction controlled ignition advance. On satisfactory completion of tests, these parts will be sent to France for trial on 3.B.1V. B.24. B.17. unit to be returned to the shop for examination when B.24. is ready i.e. assuming suction ignition tests are complete. This is a complete new unit, eventually for 10,000 miles test and incorporates the following special parts. 1. Hykro crankshaft. 2.
