P.D.2. FRONT BRAKE BALANCER - BENTLEY 111.
406 (handwritten)
The operating lever is shown pegged and brazed to the balancer stem, which is forged integral with the upper balance arm, but it is desired to know if it would be preferable to forge all the levers on the stem, as is done on Ph.lll either by forging the levers in their true final angular positions or by forging them all in one plane, then twisting the tube through 90°.
A flat surface must be pressed on the front crossmember to receive the base of the ferrule for the balancer link fulcrum.
This scheme also shows the intermediate lever and its bearing, which is carried on a piece of sheet metal attached to the front crossmember by 3.250 rivets.
The ferrules, bushes and felts used in the intermediate lever bearing are interchangeable with those on the balancer link fulcrum.
