Mr. Olley says "that for the above "they find Bone grey fibre the best material". I think if we use a thin sheet of fibre and leave enough clearance in the springs for back lash it will be quite satisfactory. I am aware that a very small clearance is used on Goshawk because of trouble with crankshaft, but we should get away from the need of so close adjustment as soon as possible. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
