Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired whether the designs now being made included the single valve which Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported as being not as satisfactory as the two separate valves.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that it was so and made a note to look into the possibilities of an alternative scheme, using two valves as preferred by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

Item 10 on agenda. Road springs and Item 11 of last meeting.

BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} said that no meeting with the spring makers had yet been arranged, owing to his having been away sick. He said that Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} had written to the spring makers to arrange meetings and these should take place very soon.

Springing was discussed generally. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} decided that the Low Rating Springs should be made standard as soon as present material commitments will permit, except for Continental Models, instead of the present standard of medium rating.
The new standard will be subject to variation by Sales specification of individual chassis to suit customers' special requirements.

Item 11 on agenda. Continental Model and last paragraphs of Item 13 of last Minutes.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that 19-EX had gone away with all the improvements we know of. He said the RR. carburetter is somewhat disappointing, but that modifications are in hand with a view to improvement.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that a larger air valve is desirable and this is being incorporated in the modification. New patterns will be necessary.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} requested that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} prepare a list of all the modifications he can recommend for adoption on standard and continental 40/50's for discussion at the next conference.

Item 12 on agenda. Tank and last part of 1st item of Minutes of April 6th.

Not discussed. Settled by correspondence.
