Item 13 on agenda. J.III and left handing.
Not further discussed. Dealt with under item 8. [strikethrough]

Item 14 on agenda. 40/50 Synchro-mesh position experimentally and production.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said there was no need to discuss this as it had been talked over at Brooklands recently with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and others.

Item 15 on agenda. Certain points from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s report on visit to America.
Easy Change.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked for information on the use of a free wheel device fitted behind the gear box.
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} gave particulars and explained its good and bad points. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will let PN.{Mr Northey} know what makes of cars are fitted with the device so that arrangements can be made for Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and PN.{Mr Northey} to try out a car so fitted.

Shackles.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked whether anything was being done with threaded shackles.
Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that nothing definite was in hand. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} was requested to include them for trial on J.III, Peregrine and Bensport.

Synchro mesh.
The troubles being experienced on 20/25 Synchro mesh gear box again came up for discussion, and it was arranged that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will together look into the job and will report to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} on Monday next May 2nd.

Item 16 on agenda. Steering andR4/M12.4.32.
Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that certain investigations were being made in connection with steering defects by removing friction from the front axle and adding friction on the steering column. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that he had a larger diameter steering worm already in the Experimental Department and he will have tests made with it as requested by R.{Sir Henry Royce}
