Instructions for stripping, examining, and re-building a Bentley III vehicle.

Please strip, examine and re-build to existing specification with following alterations and any modifications found necessary after inspection.

ENGINE.
Re-build to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} instructions. New unit to be fitted if not ready in time.

FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH.
Existing to be fitted to unit replaced. Four 1/4" diameter oil drain holes required in flywheel to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC{N. R. Chandler}'s instructions, and find out if oil is trapped in flywheel before lying on side. Existing clutch plate to be used again even if oily as it is satisfactory.
Deletion of servo spring and mock-up pull off spring to be retained, as proved satisfactory.

GEARBOX.
7° cones for 3rd and 4th.
55° cam angle for 2nd speed cone.
P.D.296 Alum. Bronze pads on both operating forks, also further mods. after inspection to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}'s instructions.
Re-line servo to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}'s instructions.
Existing gearbox unit to be re-fitted with mods. found necessary after strip.

PROPELLER SHAFT.
Strip all universal joints, but do not dismantle centre bearing unless it is obviously out of order. Retain existing rear bolts.
Existing unit to be re-fitted.

REAR AXLE.
Bearing collars not to be removed on any account. Oil retainer joints to be made oil tight, and temporary oil catcher required under bearing housing to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}'s instructions.
Existing axle to be re-fitted with mods. found necessary after strip.
