(24) TANKS Art. 31. - Fuel, oil and cooling liquid tanks will be sealed before the start and, during the race, after each replenishment so that the competitor may only be able to replenish at his pit at minimum intervals of twenty-four laps between replenishments. Filler caps of fuel, oil and cooling liquid tanks must be fitted with eyelets ready to receive at a final and single operation carried out by the Stewards, the string or wire bearing the seal and guarantee punch. Said tank filler caps (fuel, oil and cooling liquid) must be arranged so as to prevent any opening motion. The joints of the various pipes must likewise be equipped and prepared to receive either a lead seal or a check imprint. It is compulsory for fuel tanks to be provided with a circular opening having a minimum inside diameter of 50 millimetres. Competitors who, at time of weighing in, present vehicles on which the sealing devices are not prepared will be liable to a fine of Fcs 50 per fitting not installed. Tanks not utilised must be sealed. NUMBERS Art. 32. - Each vehicle will bear a serial number, preferably black on a white ground in mat paint, that is to say not shiny or varnished, in accordance with the following provisions. 1. - On either side of the bonnet or car, a very visible number. 2. - Another number on the front of the car. 3. - At the rear, on the right-hand side, a number which must be illuminated by the lighting arrangements of the car. Numbers, preferably black on a white ground, must remain visible by day and by night and this is a matter the competitors must see to. These numbers must be at least 35 centimetres (13.7") high; they must be indicated by lines of a minimum width of 5 centimetres (1.96"). These are minimum, not obligatory dimensions. It is the duty of competitors to apply to the Automobile-Club de l'Ouest to ascertain the number allotted to their cars. This information will be supplied on and after Tuesday 14th. June, at noon. Any competitor presenting a car not provided with the regulation numbers painted on at the time of weighing-in will be liable to a fine of Frs 100 for each vehicle not in order. COLOURS OF THE CARS AND DRIVER'S DRESS Art. 33. - In so far as possible, and without this being an absolute obligation, all cars taking part in the Le Mans 24 hours race should be painted in the colours laid down in the international Sporting Code of the I.A.R.A.C. o o o | ||
