SMOKE

Art. 28. - Competitors whose cars emit a cloud of smoke liable to obstruct other competitors will be stopped. They can only resume the race after a decision of the race Stewards finding that the vehicle is in normal racing order.

LIGHTING

Art. 29. - Electric, acetylene or any other means of lighting must be installed on each car. Its efficient range must not be less than 100 metres. It must function, during the night, from 9.30 p.m. to 4.30 a.m.

Disappearing headlamps will be allowed proving the headlamp is not removed but merely swivelled or moved along fixed guides.

Competitors are at liberty to carry an emergency lighting set but this must be declared at time of weighing-in. The emergency lighting set, in regular working order, must be on board at the start and must remain there throughout the race under penalty of elimination from the race. The checking of the normal and emergency lighting arrangements will be made on Weighing-in.

WHEELS

Art. 30. - More than three spare wheels may not be used. Any breach will involve the removal of the car from the race. These wheels, like those equipping the car, must be fitted with tyres in new condition. They must all have been presented and marked exclusively during the checking operations.

This marking will be made on a bared portion of the rim with an area of 8 millimetres by 20 previously prepared by the competitor. This rectangle must be situated 20 millimetres in front of or behind the valve passage on the outer side of the rim.

The fact of presenting wheels the rims of which are not prepared, as above stipulated, at time of weighing-in for the application of the marks will involve a fine of Fcs 50 per rim not prepared.

The number of air tubes carried on board is unrestricted but it is forbidden to carry unmounted covers.

The spare wheel or wheels will be placed outside the space reserved for passengers.

Spare wheels may be left at the pit, it being compulsory to carry at least one on the car.

Spare wheels left at the pit may be picked up and again left during the race or else exchanged for the other spare wheel remaining on the car or against one of the wheels of the car.

In the case of the spare wheels left at the pit, but in the case of these only, excluding all others, the fitting of air tubes and covers may be carried out by the pit staff.

The Stewards reserve the right to establish the identity of wheels allotted to each car by whatever means they may choose in addition to the marking provided for in the regulations.
