RR 238 (50 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 461-8-12-24) MP 306975 X8710 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: E7C Order No.: WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}15 Customer's No.: X8710 Coil temperature on R.R. 20HP and 40/50 HP Chassis. A number of tests have been made on both 20HP and 40/50 HP chassis in the experimental dept and on the road, to determine the maximum temperature the ignition coil attains under running conditions under the bonnet. These tests were made particularly to ascertain whether the wheelbase position of the coil as on the 20HP engine was any cooler than the cylinder head position on the 40/50 H.P. engine. At the same time the heating of the old standard finer primary coil on the chassis was compared with the present standard coil, and Signed: (contd) This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
