To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x 208 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.8/KW.9.10.34. Bentley Air Silencer. We find that at high speeds we lose something of the order of 5 H.P. owing to restrictions in the air silencer system on the Bentley. We wish to reduce this loss if possible, and as a start should like to try the effect of increasing the size of the downtake pipe as in Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1548. This may be made up of sheet metal if the job is done more easily that way. We have eliminated the screwed union for simplicity. In conjunction with this we shall require an air silencer with a larger diameter flange to take the downtake pipe. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
