Re: Double Brake actuating Gear
I have got out & instructed the new actuating shafts for double rear brake with the centres of toggle lever reduced from 1.000 to .800.
I would like to point out, (as this this reduction seems to indicate that you are assuming there is considerable flexure in the gear), that I have carefully gone thro all the shafts having got out all the deflections for a load of 100 lbs on the foot pedal and find that the flexure of all the shafts is negligable the total deflection at the foot pedal neglecting deflection of levers themselves is only about .250". With the deflections of levers added this figure is only about .350"
