Half Shafts - Bentley Rear Axle. After completing two 10,000 miles runs in England the half shafts on 4-B-IV were found twisted, one .3 and the other .4 in its length. We have replaced them for a further 10,000 miles test to see whether failure occurs. At the moment we are inclined to think that a heavy load is thrown on these half shafts when changing gear, and it is conceivable that a lighter flywheel or reduced clutch spring load would improve the job.
