We hereunder give you extract of letter received from the above customer. Will you please let us have your remarks on the cause of the trouble with the battery of this Chassis -

"I also desire to call your attention to my set of accumulators. I had a complete set of new positive plates put in a fortnight ago. They seemed to be working very satisfactorily until last week when there were two very severe explosions which at first I thought was the silencer but afterwards I discovered that all the accumulator cells had burst.

"I cannot find out what can have caused the explosion as there was no trace of any short on the ammeter, further although all the acid in the accumulators ran out I satisfactorily drove the car with all lights on some 60 miles as I only discovered the explosion was due to burst accumulators the day following.

"Perhaps you would kindly advise me if you have ever had any experience of this and if in your opinion I can have done the dynamo any harm by driving with lights on burst accumulators and no acid.

"I naturally never thought it possible the cause of the explosion was the bursting of the accumulators.

"The exide Agents of this town-Messrs. Falconar Cross have tested for a short but cannot find any and are quite unable to explain the explosion.

"I regret having to trouble you on this matter but as I have ordered from Messrs. Falconar Cross a complete set of new batteries I do not wish these new batteries to explode in the same way as the last did.

"As a check on Messrs. Falconar Cross would you kindly advise me as to what number set of exide batteries should be procured".
