Other Bentley Matters (Contd) -4- Gx/KS.15.7.35.

Lead Bronze Bearings:- There are now 6 sets ready for cars and S. are to appoint some cars for these to be fitted to. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will follow up re. putting on production.

Supercharged Model:- Experimental are carrying on quietly with this.

20/25 HP. Rolls-Royce:

21-C-1Y: Tests are to be completed for acceleration and speed. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} takes the car to France next week. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} considers that the steering in France will not be found good.

Big Bore Engine:- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has one on the road and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and C. tried it. Acceleration of this model is vastly improved and makes the car much more attractive to drive. The matter is being pursued.

Change Speed Lever Rattle:- Still under consideration by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Design must be made for existing gearbox. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} requested to investigate for introduction on production.

WRAITH.

Engine could be in two sizes -

3 x 4¼" - 4169 c.c. 28.8 R.A.C. Rating.

or 3½ x 4¼" - 4525 c.c. 31.25 R.A.C. Rating.

It was agreed the larger of the two is the one to develop. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of progress of this model. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said a good deal was in the Pattern Shop already. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said the Aero. Engine programme had rather held up the progress of this.

GENERAL.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired about the silent packing on engine. This is being pursued and designed for SpectreCodename for Phantom III and the matter is not being lost sight of.
