- 4 - Fitting and Assembly Criticisms. Design Remarks. 16. The five bolts securing the bridge in the centre casing are fitted with lock nuts and riveted over; this tends to distort the bridge piece. We suggest that lock plates be incorporated to delete the riveting operation. 17. The lock-washer locating tab for the differential casing studs should be at 90° to the locating tab, similar to the corresponding piece on Wraith, G.84541. The washer should also be strengthened. 18. Cannot the studs for the oil seal housing be of the same length? At present six studs, KB.351/6, KB.751, are specified. 19. When the brakes are assembled it is impossible to lock the two nuts on the brake strap push rod GB.3776, as the fulcrum bracket presents the use of a spanner. 20. The following is a list of the various axle weights :- Semi-floating rear axle (less road wheels) 230 lbs. 1.B.50 Axle 162 lbs. Standard Bentley Axle 195 lbs. Wraith Axle with cast steel brake straps and cast iron drums. 273 lbs. | ||
