X/3465 PN{Mr Northey}6/DN/28.12.23. TO B.J. FROM P.N. I have now had an opportunity of using the proposed larger steering wheel on 107-MG (Open Touring 40/50), and my impression of it is, whilst I like the larger diameter - 1 1/4" - I entirely dislike the too small rim of the wheel and the much too small and sharp edged spokes. These spokes after driving 50 miles on a roughish road, cut definitely into one's finger and thumb because of the sharpness of the sides. I strongly advocate that in cases where the larger wheel is applicable, as in the case of open cars primarily, the larger diameter be employed, but that the rim be a dimension midway between the existing standard and the wheel under test, and that the spokes be the same dimension as the existing standard.
