X76553 We understand you are waiting for further drawings of this from WW., but we have now got the essentials which we think will give satisfaction, and the one you have working on EAC. 7. appears to be only wrong in that the slightly helical gearing is not correctly cut, or not running at the correct depth, because it is noisy. It is understood that you are preparing a high class straight tooth gear for this, and we hope it has been submitted to the gear expert to find out whether what you are doing is the best for such a pair of gears as regards avoiding interference etc. We assume that these gears will be cut by some generating system such as the Fellowes or Sunderland, and it is imperative for the gear to be more silent than the usual flywheel gear. If it has been found necessary to harden one or both gears it looks as though it may be found necessary to have the gears ground correctly to form after hardening. Let me know what is happening.
