RE: OIL SEALS PRODUCED BY MESSRS. GEORGE ANGUS & CO.LTD.

I am sending you herewith one each of the seals supplied by the above Company, in which the sealing material is produced in moulded form and known as "Gaco". Gaco material is a rubber-like compound, which will stand up to 180°C without deterioration, can be accurately moulded to dimensions, and is strongly recommended as being superior to leather.

We have received a dozen of each type of oil seals, and we are sending the balance to Mr. Gryls in the Experimental Department, so that he may have the opportunity of running these under high temperature conditions.

It should be noted that the seals which have been supplied are to fit 1.375 diameter and 1.125 diameter shafts respectively i.e. they have not been supplied with the smaller diameter bore for the material which is being used on the chassis at the moment.
