5. Leak from Pinion Bearing on Rear Axle.
Design altered to N.Sch.4594/ 20.8.35. and running on 15,000 miles car.
6. Size of Carburetter Throttle.
Larger throttle will not be on first 50 production cars. It increases power only by 5 H.P.
7. Leaks from Front Shock Absorbers.
Sealing operation on frame insert missed out on earlier chassis now carried out and joint and spring box improved in design.
8. Chunking in Drive.
Design in hand to eliminate all slack on fixed gear mountings, and thereby reduce slack on all ratios. In addition a revised specification of limits reducing slack has been issued. N.Sch.4630.22/9/35.
9. Rear Axle dither on Frame.
Awaiting test of frame stiffeners to N.Sch.4627/ 14.9.35.
10. Bijur System.
Design revised to be independent of oil seals. N.Sch.4660/23.10.35., N.Sch.4593/20.8.35.
11. Damage by Stones.
Stone guards fitted to N.Sch.4650.3.10.35, and lower anchorage of rear shock damper links and anti roll links raised 2". The shorter links have design of ball joints modified to avoid susceptibility to damage. Damage from stones was very pronounced but believe conditions of test out of all proportion to normal service.
12. Gearbox.
Awaiting tests of radically altering mounting temporarily to N.Sch.4641/25.9.35, N.Sch.4618/6.9.35, N.Sch.4617/4.9.35. Design modification completed for more flexible feet for present mounting.
13. Wheel Failures.
Design of wheel has been modified to reduce spoke stresses by running all spokes to rim well thereby increasing triangulation.
