S/W Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1166. To E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} From Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Hr.EW.Ds.Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} re Bentley Jacking. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/Ell.3.37 I should be interested to know whether the scheme you outline in E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.10.3.37 is the same as or similar to that which is standard on the Jaguar which we thought to be good and distinctly in advance of what we provide on our much more expensive car. If it is different, I should like to know in what way. I rather think the 'SS{S. Smith}' Jaguar was a screw jack, i.e. not hydraulic but its operation was very simple. The jack, if I remember rightly, was small and light. Before we take any decision, I should like to see one of the jacks to which you refer and, if the Jaguar scheme is different, see one of those as well. Perhaps you could arrange this for next Monday when I am at Derby. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
