c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. SFL. X-2764 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}15/H17.1.24. re. 40/50 HP. Valve Springs. Further to our memo reference EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H14.1.24, re 20-HP Valve Spring breakages, we have now a case of a 40/50 HP. engine valve spring which has broken on test, which we send to you herewith. This failure also appears to be due to faulty material, and I shall be glad if you will consider what action should be taken, if any, on this job at the same time as you consider dealing with the 20-HP faulty valve springs.
