Re Worm Axle with Standard Engine.

In your memorandum TEB1/L27212 you say -

"On Feb. 20th Mr Nadin wrote to us that there should not be any difficulty in substituting our standard engine on, say, chassis 2004, in place of the Marine Engine."

There is some misunderstanding here; - I intended that this chassis might be so arranged to take either engine.

Complete No. 2004 as in progress but do not put on the marine engine until it is satisfactory on test plate both for power and running.

Make another chassis for standard engine and worm axle.

We have not, at present, a reasonable design for the starting handle support through the cross tube, cannot the engine be dropped slightly to avoid the necessity of this apparently awkward feature?

The testing of the worm axle with standard engine should have been done.

The marine engine should have been put upon a chassis
