R.R. 495A (10M-8-16) (Y.V. 500 5-16) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2229. COPY. B Recd. about March 2nd. x141 I am quite in agreement with your proposed exhibition of improvement in bevel axles, and propose that we give the figures of temperature rises of the bevel and worm axle, which are a most delicate indication of the work (power) lost in this part of the transmission, just in the same way as the temperature of a tyre or bearing shows whether there are any losses going on. I have given Mr Bailey some notes on the subject so that you can use what you think would be useful we will send them by next post. What you state in your letter to me seems excellent. I think I had better arrange to have with me one permanent draughtsman from Derby and a typist. Then I should like to have a spare drawing board and room for one of the chiefs from the Works. We can then complete a design of any part which seems the only way if you want my designs. | ||
