Report on Meeting at Bignall's Corner - 10,000 Miles Test on 3½ litre Bentley.

This meeting was arranged for Sales to be asked to approve of final details concerning :-

(1) Engine Finish. This was approved except that it was not considered necessary to use the Bentley type of milled nuts holding the valve cover in position or valve tappet covers, and that R-R type milled nuts should be used. The finish of the engine otherwise was approved as on the car submitted to S.

(2) The radiator in its latest form with the grill embodied in the shell was also approved.

(3) The brake adjustments were noted and seemed to us to be a great advance on previous design.

(4) The modified form of steering was tried without springs in the side steering tube, but we understand it is proposed not to adopt this for the production cars but to have it similar to that on the open 4-seater, to which S. have no objection.

(5) A different system of piping in connection with the petrol pump proved troublesome and the car on test stopped on two or three occasions. This we understand will be modified, so as to remove the cause of the trouble experienced yesterday.

(6) The 'B' on the hub caps, oil filler cap and petrol filler cap had yet to be put on, and it is suggested that the 'B' should be of the Winchester italic design if that lends itself to this. This is the same style of type as has been selected for the S.how sign and for all Bentley literature, catalogues, etc.
