Servo on 3S1.

We have investigated the two complaints in GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}2/JAB.19.8.35 and find that the second of these is due to our design of the swinging arm not having been followed.

The spring for the friction at the top of the arm has been placed on the servo side of the fulcrum instead of on the crossmember side as shown on N.Sch. 4283.

However, this trouble automatically disappears with the latest scheme in which the friction is obtained by a separate disc damper (now being fitted to the production cars).

With regard to the first complaint this is a design fault and can be remedied by modification to the stop.
