Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
D E R B Y.

Dear Sirs,

FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. CHANDLER.

Thank you for your letter of the 3rd instant, with which you enclosed a Print of your RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}407 Curve, showing the deflections of the two types of 13 1/2" Driven Plate for the Phantom III Chassis.

We note the difference obtained in your test using VM.20 Facings and the tests which we have carried out using 'Hyco' Facings on the Driven Plate fitted with EX.27309 Cushion Spring.

I should imagine that the slight difference shown is due to the difference in the Facings used.

However, we have in hand a Deflection Testing Rig, which we hope to have finished in the course of a day or so, which will give us very accurate readings and if you think it desirable to take further tests later on, when we have this Rig finished, we shall be pleased to do so.

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LTD.

Manager
