Harvey Bailey, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
D E R B Y.

Dear Mr. Bailey,

You will be interested to learn that we had a Conference this morning respecting your letters of the 14th and 15th instant, in which you made certain suggestions for securing decarburisation of the surface of spring plates.

We have decided upon a definite experimental course, and I was instructed to inform you of the details.

I am not sure whether you are away, but I propose to take an early opportunity of explaining our procedure to you. As soon as the Works resume, a particular series of tests will be prepared.

Those present the morning were :- Dr.Hatfield in the Chair, Mr. Matthews, Mr. Mark Firth, Mr. John Smith, Mr. Stanfield, Mr. Briars and myself.

I am merely writing this to inform you that we have decided to take definite action arising out of your suggestion.

We hope to see you before long either in Derby or up here.

Kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,

(signed) G.E. Wolstenholme.
