Re - Exide batteries on Phantom chassis.

The following is extract of letter from Sir J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Worsley-Taylor, and an extract of the comments on this matter from the Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd :-

(1) "During a run of about 1,100 miles in France I found that on bad roads an appreciable quantity of acid leaked out thro' the Vent holes in the cell screw plugs.
Perhaps you will consider it desirable to take up the matter with the Makers of the Battery, with a view of their being able to supply an improved type of screw plug".

(2) "We beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter reference D/BP6/OG of the 23rd inst., and are sorry to hear that one of your clients has any reason to complain of acid leaking through the vent holes in the cell screw plugs.
It would be difficult to improve the design of the plug, and this is such an isolated complaint that we wonder whether the trouble can possibly have been due to over-filling. In your experience have you found any better results with any other type of plug than our standard one, which would lead you to recommend any alteration in design?
We are quite willing to fall in with your wishes in the matter."

We shall be glad to have your opinion on this subject before we refer the matter again to either Chloride's or Sir J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Worsley-Taylor.
