REAR HUBS. SECTION 6170.

Please receive herewith two blueprints of each of the following (3 prints where marked *) :-

SECTION 6170.
* Ex.S.545 Brake Drum with Cast-in End Plate. 2 off.
Ex.S.546 End Plate for Brake Drum. 2 off.

SECTION 6130.
* Ex.S.547 Brake Shoe (Rear). 4 off.
* Ex.S.548 Brake Lining (Rear). 8 off.
Ex.S.549 Distance Piece for Brake Shoes. 4 off.

The following existing parts will also be required :-

G.83258 Bolt 24 off.

Please note that on the drawing Ex.S.547 the material called for is S/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} but for the purpose of this experiment and to save the cost of dies these shoes should be made in Cast Steel.

The above pieces replace the following :-

SECTION 6170.
G.81900 End Plate. 2 off.
G.85624 Brake Drum. 2 off.

SECTION 6130.
G.84849 Brake Shoe. 2 off.
G.84850 Brake Shoe. 2 off.
G.85625 Brake Lining. 8 off.

The above are in accordance with memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}22.2.38.

Will you kindly instruct one set which when made should be fitted to chassis 39-EX.
