instructed to fit this tyre pump to Mrs. Sherman's chassis but the pump was extremely heavy and awkward, and he did not consider it advisable that we should fit such a pump; it was possible to arrange a drive and fittings, but it would be necessary for the driving chain to be continually running. He asked the Committee for their further advice and instructions.

Mr. Nadin reported that he had been in communication with "Sales" on the matter, and had suggested that Mrs. Sherman should be persuaded not to have the pump fitted. "Sales" had replied as follows:-

"We think you had certainly better proceed with the making of necessary fittings to complete the work of fitting up this tyre pump and Syren. We have not heard from Mrs. Sherman in reply to our suggestion that she should buy another type, and we have not much hope of being able to persuade her to do so."

The Committee discussed this question and were of the opinion that the pump had originally been intended for use in a garage, and was quite unsuitable for fitting in a car. They agreed that Mr. Nadin should again write to "Sales" and ask them to again communicate with Mrs. Sherman to persuade her to fit another and more suitable type of pump.
