114 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.10/MH.{M. Huckerby} 6th. September 1937. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, We have received your letter of the 3rd. inst. for which we thank you, and also the experimental oil cooler mentioned therein. Our only criticism of the oil cooler is that you have not fitted thicker gauge side plates as agreed (this was done on the first cooler of this type which you supplied to us). We are however, proceeding to give this cooler a fatigue test and will return it afterwards for thicker side plates to be fitted. With regard to the quotations mentioned in your letter. As I told you we would be interested in your figure for the Bentley radiator, and I would like you to confirm the figure which you gave me of £6. 15. 0d. for the Wraith radiator complete less shell and shutter assembly. This figure has given our people here some- thing to think about and I think that there is a distinct possibility of us asking you to make this unit if your price remains in the neighbourhood of the above figure. We have received the Bentley sample radiator and shall proceed to run same on a car here. With regard to oil coolers - we particularly wish to decide quickly whether a used sound, hand soldered oil cooler can be converted to the dipped type successfully. We | ||
