To C. from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Our Bonnets and Scuttles.
Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}E.Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}Hr.

One of the points which is still very bad on our cars is the inequality of the surface level of our bonnets and scuttles where they meet. I am referring in particular to the top edge.

Very often on our cars you will find the top back edge of the bonnet standing proud of the level of the scuttle and, as seen from the driver's seat it is of course very conspicuous and looks bad.

I have not noticed the same defect on other cars and I am sure that there must be some way of getting over it. It seems to lie between ourselves and the coach-builders.

I should be glad if the CSC will discuss it and if, as I expect, Derby come into the matter from the point of view of the bonnet itself, then those of the CSC who attend the monthly coachbuilding meetings at Derby can raise it there.

I should like to know, however, definitely in due course to what the trouble is attributable and what we are going to do to get it right.

If you want an example of what I mean, I can show it to you on the car I use.
