SERIES IX "EAGLE".
We send you herewith two Blue Prints of N. Sch. 1090 showing an increased size of Throttle Body for the above Series Engines, having a throat dia. of 47 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} increasing to 51 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} respectively.
The dia. of the Throttle Barrel will now be 2.875 ins.
On this Scheme we have kept the position of the Water Inlet and Outlet in the same relation to the Throttle as previously designed, in order to minimize the amount of alteration to the Water Connections.
The Float Chamber we have lowered .125 in order to use the larger size Throttle Barrel. This will necessitate the lowering of the fulcrum operating the variable jet the same amount to keep the levers in line. This, however, could be done on future engines, as the ones already built would possibly be alright, but should be set out to see if this alteration is detrimental or not to the Control to existing engines.
The Control lever operating the Throttle fixed on the Shaft at the side of the engine should be modified as stated on the Drawing to suit wider position of Throttle lever.
Will you please therefore have the necessary details prepared and instructed in place of the ones already issued.
Rg{Mr Rowledge}/SFP.
