Dear Sirs,

During the visit of Mr. Burn and myself to your Office on the 16th March last it was then arranged that I should produce, for your perusal, a drawing of our Rotary Valve adapted to your 25 h.p. unit.

I have given close consideration to this matter and have evolved a design which I think will be of interest to you. I enclose herewith a blue print of the design, together with a second print of the same drawing which has been printed with a mask superimposed giving some written information to facilitate following the design. Both of these drawings and the descriptions are contained in duplicate in case you would like to pass same to your aero section.

Further, I enclose a print from a rough pencil sketch showing how I think the chain drive to the valve may be utilised to drive the fan also, by attaching it to the spindle of the chain tensioning sprocket. Such an adaptation would not appear to us to affect the crank chamber but would only affect the cover on the front end, but this side of the job is rather outside of my province and the sketch has only been put before you to show what is in my own thoughts in the matter of the drive.
