RE: USE OF RR.50 ALLOY PISTONS IN OUR OWN ENGINES IN PLACE OF 'Y' ALLOY. ------------------------------------------------------- The completion of a Condor type test in which we used RR.59 alloy for the pistons has in my opinion put us in the position that we ought now to be able to reasonably obtain Air Ministry consent to the use of this alloy on our various engines. The matter is being taken up with the Air Ministry (D.T.D.) with the object of trying to obtain a definite ruling on the subject. We are finding out the attitude of the A.I.D. here in addition to pressing Head Quarters for a decision. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY (handwritten initials) | ||
