PHANTOM SPRINGING. ---------------- Referring to Pt.4/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/29.11.28. it has of course always been appreciated that parallel control for the front axle would permit better springing. R.{Sir Henry Royce} had before him the possibilities of parallel control and made a number of designs to incorporate it at the time the front wheel brakes were introduced, but at that time he did not consider that the position as he knew it would be as good if he fitted the control as if he depended upon the springs to take the re-action. Since then, however, as the result of very considerable thought he evolved a simple yet effective scheme for axle control, and this has been fitted on all cars from 1-FH. onwards i.e. the commencement of E.2B series, By BY.{R.W.
