BENTLEY STANDARDISATION OF PARTS
Date Issued: 2.9.38.
Sheet No.: B.16.
Drg. No.:
L.O.P.S.
Description: THERMOSTAT WITH 1.500" DIA. BELLOWS & 1.281" DIA. VALVE SEAT.
Purpose: To reduce oscillations of bellows due to water pressure fluctuations and prevent consequent fatigue and noise in case of a car fitted with car heater.
Brief Report and Remarks:
Effects of the above changes in bellows and valve size have been reported on in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/td.1/RH.{R. Hollingworth}10.5.38. and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/td.2/RH.{R. Hollingworth}16.5.38.
Since that time, thermostats of this type have covered approx. 4,000 miles on O.B.M. exptl. car and approx. 7,000 miles on Lp{Mr Lappin}'s. car S.O.M. and have proved satisfactory.
When recommended for Introduction: IMMEDIATELY PRESENT STOCK OF EB.3309 UNITS IS USED UP.
