Experimental Department 19th December 1936. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth.5/AP. Messrs Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., Tachbrook Road, LEAMINGTON SPA, Warwickshire. For the attention of Mr.H.T.Barker. Dear Sirs, Unless we fit a propeller shaft damper to our 25/30 HP. car., we are not entirely free from overun groans in the rear axle at certain speeds. We have tried yellow and red damper springs in the clutch driven plate without noticing any difference. Can you suggest any other damper spring poundage which is likely to help us.? Possibly you have available the experience of some other cars of a similar size. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
