CHASSIS ITEMS. (9) Item 7 on Agenda. Peregrine bodies Hek/W.7.10.32. and WSD/13.10.32. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} had been to Derby and discussed these bodies with him and Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has gone away with numerous points to take up with Park Ward's. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} expressed a very favourable opinion of the bodies supplied by Park Ward's. (10) Item 8 on Agenda. Overheating complaints - HGS/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/20.10.32. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that he has done everything possible and has prescribed a definite cure for such complaints. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said that he agreed that this was so, but the cure involved the use of the ribbon type radiators (Harrison or Marston) and this type has not been standardised. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} agreed that if the Marston Matrix has been satisfactorily passed on the bumper it may be used in the case of the overheating complaint of Baron de la{L. A. Archer} Graviere (Chassis 116-GN). Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} also agreed to the making up of not more than half-a-dozen ribbon type radiators which may be used in similar cases, but they must be regarded as experimental parts and kept under observation by the Experimental Dept. while in service. (11) Item 19 on Agenda. Powerplus Supercharger. WDT/M.12.10.32, WDT/T.18.10.32. and R1/MF.26.10.32. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} asked for a ruling on supercharging as to whether he was to continue working on the subject or not. After hearing various expressions of opinion on the subject all of which were in favour of stopping this work, Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} decided that the job should be held up and no further time or money be spent on it. The communications from Powerplus regarding our relations with them was discussed, and it was arranged that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will 'phone to Nysten and tell him that we are giving up the idea of supercharging at present. Should the necessity arise for further discussion E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} can arrange for them to come to Derby and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will meet them. (12) Peregrine Tool Kit. Not on Agenda. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} read Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lidl/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}13.9.32. on the subject and went through the items. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will write a reply. | ||
