-2- Chloride ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY LIMITED. Messrs.Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. 21st June, 1928. sent from the Factory. A blind plug would cause bursting of the compound, but naturally would not be the cause of acid escaping from the vent plug. We feel that the cases must either be instances of over-filling or of the negatives being so badly sulphated that the action is confined to the surface and the charge is dissipated in electrolysis. We feel it right to draw your attention to the matter, as we do not wish to belittle the complaints, but it is strange that the cases in question have arisen in the Far East, and, so far as we know, the batteries are giving every satisfaction in this country. We recall one instance where one of your clients at Hereford, several years ago, complained of acid leaking from his battery vent plugs, but apart from this our understanding is that no complaints have been made for several years. Yours faithfully, THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY, LTD. [Signature] Chief Engineer. | ||
