Hancock - Head Chateauroux}11/KW21.12.33. Re: Wing Stays on Bentley. --------------------- There have been two failures of wing stays. On the near side the rear stay broke at the sharp bend of the stay from the frame. This has to be practically a right-angled bend immediately above the top bolt holes, due to the wing at this point being level with the running board. There is no stay made for this, and it is left to the Coachbuilders to hammer and bend it to suit the wings. On the offside it was the middle stay that broke. This broke across the bolting holes cornerwise, through the large hole which is drilled for draining purposes. This large hole is practically useless for draining, as in a very short time it becomes choked up solid with dirt. We should recommend the hole to be deleted.
