DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} X. 7600 R1/M22.3.29. c. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SS.{S. Smith} SIDE WHEEL CARRIER. Re. N.Sch.2845 we think the wheel should be carried in one inch for the sake of safety in catching a passing vehicle. Not so high. and no washer. Clean up with end mill before polishing. Two wings of the proportions shewn for turning and inverting position of disc. These prongs should be made to come further through the slot which probably requires more clearance on the threaded end with the handle. The double wheel carrier on 21-EX does not work well owing to the pronts not reaching into the slot. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
